It’s a little known fact that many of our favorite cosmetic and skincare products contain so many toxins and chemicals that can be harmful to our skin. Unfortunately, many of us have no idea just how harmful they can be. Don’t worry, it’s not your fault! Did you know that toxic and allergic ingredients are not even required to be on ingredient labels? Or that all cosmetics are not FDA approved by the time they hit the shelves? Here are the first 3 things you should do to make the switch:

Do some research - Environmental Working Group is a great tool. They have a makeup database with rankings and explanations.  Another great resource when you’re out shopping or going through your makeup at home is the Think Dirty app. Using this app, you can scan the barcode of any product and it will rate the product on a 1-10 scale (10 being the worst).

Making the switch - When you’re ready to make the switch from the bad to the good, start with the products you use most often. This includes your daily moisturizer, cleanser, and toner etc. Now that you’re beginning to see improvements in your skin thanks to your new moisturizer and cleanser, you can begin swapping out those foundations and concealers.

Picking New Products- Not sure where to find those healthy skincare and cosmetics products? Don’t worry, we got you covered! In no time you’ll be able to request our clean skin sample kit, complete with herbal facial tea great for detoxing the skin, gentle aloe gel cleanser, and lightweight purifying facial serum.

We’d love to see photos of your results and hear your story on how you made the switch! Drop us a line through our contact page! Good luck and remember that changing one product at a time will make a huge difference and your skin will thank you for it!
