The Best Calming Essential Oils for Stress

Specific calming essential oils can be used for stress and anxiety. Many people come to essential oils when they’ve tried everything else, or if they want a more natural approach to managing stress and anxiety.

In Western society, there is a stress and anxiety epidemic. How do you know if you’re stressed and anxious? If you are always tired, breaking out, can’t sleep, grinding your teeth, and more you are probably stressed out. And the bad news gets worse… if you have experienced these symptoms for over two weeks, you may have chronic stress and anxiety, which carry long-term health consequences. Stress in itself is related to 90% of all diseases!

It’s not all bad news, though. We’ve selected three of our favorite calming essential oils that can help you on your journey out of stress and anxiety.

Eucalyptus for stress and anxiety

Eucalyptus is a refreshing and revitalizing oil made from the leaves of the Australian Eucalyptus tree. Eucalyptus oil provides immune support and antioxidants. This not only helps treat asthma, colds, and other respiratory disorders impacted by stress and anxiety.

Eucalyptus oil’s property of regulating neurological responses makes it a wonderfully calming essential oil.  Mentally, it provides clarity of mind and enhances focus. Emotionally, it brings a sense of peace and balance.

Ylang Ylang for stress and anxiety

Ylang Ylang is a more unusual essential oil distilled from the flowers of Asian Ylang Ylang trees. It has a sweet and gentle floral scent that complements its highly-researched status as a calming essential oil.

Clinical studies have shown that Ylang Ylang is an anti-depressant, and reduces the heart rate to bring a sense of calm and reduce anxiety. Mentally it calms, while emotionally it uplifts and even improves self-esteem.
